Afritude Band - Pop, Rock and Cover Band - Durban

From Ancient affluent empires ancient/modern cultural practices, Sub-Saharan Africa: (which is in turn divided into a great number of ethnic and tribal cultures.) The main ethno-linguistic divisions are Afro-Asiatic (North Africa, Chad, Horn of Africa), Niger-Congo (mostly Bantu) in most of Sub-Saharan Africa, Nilo-Saharan in parts of the Sahara and the Sahel and parts of Eastern Africa, and Khoisan (indigenous minorities of Southern Africa. 

On a positive note, this region is known for its abundant natural resources, which seems like a curse if one where to contrast this with the multiple civil wars, famines and diseases this region is notorious for. 

AfritudeBand has a mission to de-mystify this region, to bring the richness of its civilization, cultural evolution and struggles as the region continues to integrate and expand in the global village. 

Our band members are experienced in working with Asian locals, settlers and visitors in & around Hong Kong.

Afritude

Afritude, a three-piece band comprising Sylvester Dunn on lead vocals and brothers, Derek and Mike, on guitar and bass with sequenced backing, has been together for over eight years and has built up a loyal following both on the pub circuit and the corporate function market. The band have a wide repertoire ranging from hits from 60’s to 90’s and have also released their own material which has enjoyed airplay on local radio stations.
 

Afritude are professional, reliable and are able to handle both informal and formal functions alike. They have performed in venues such as Sun City, The Royal Swazi Dun, Fancourt in George and The I.C.C.

Clients include Toyota, Spar, Unifoods, Lever Ponds, Hunt Lascaris, Polifin, Mass Discounters and PQ Africa, to name a few. They have also performed at the Million Dollar Golf Tournament at Sun City for two years in a row.

The band remains a firm favourite due to their constant updating of their repertoire, their interaction with the audience and their firm desire to ensure each function is a success!
