comedian, stand-up comic, actor, director, writer,
producer, Master of Ceremony and even a fully
qualified high school teacher. He freelances around
the country and is best known for his comic one man
shows
Alan
Committie is one of the hardest working comics in
South Africa and is fast becoming recognized as one
of the funniest. He is also one of the few natural
comics who can turn any situation, question or
answer into comedy. His wit comes with a razor sharp
mind and incredible general knowledge as well as a
deep understanding of the nuances of being human.
His
one-man plays have received rave reviews in Cape
Town and Johannesburg, albeit with the ongoing
question “what makes somebody think like that?”
Topics that have been given the Alan Committie
treatment have varied from reminiscing about the
early days of South African Television, through
bedside manners to the sinking of the Titanic and
the untold story of Diana’s death.
