· The war in Bosnia (from Sarajevo).

During the war in Bosnia I was a political officer and negotiator for the United Nations; and set up a radio information programme in Bosnia for the UN.
 
During Namibia’s transition to independence I was a member of the UN political team; produced and presented a daily radio programme and a weekly TV programme for the UN in Namibia.


2012 Public and Media Engagements and Writing
 
· January to present: Interviews and commentary on the ongoing court cases of Bosnian Serb leaders Radovan Karadžić and Ratko Mladić at the International Tribunal in the Hague.
·      April: Judge for the radio category of the ATKV annual media competition.
·      September: Conducting a tour to Sarajevo, Bosnia to commemorate the 20th year after the beginning of the war. This will include interviews with the media in Sarajevo.
·      October: Speaker at the Clarens Centenary Celebrations.
·      November: Speaker at Boston University in the U.S. on Winnie Mandela.
 
·      January to present: Written articles on various topics in the local news media.
