Arnold Geerdts is a South African journalist and sports presenter best known for anchoring a variety of shows on DStv's SuperSport channels.
Arnold is a product of the Seunskool Hugenote in Springs - where he made his debut in journalism. He delivered the Springs Advertiser as a schoolboy before later writing for the paper as a sports journalist.
Arnold has been broadcasting since 1984 when he broadcast for Radio 5 and Springbok Radio. His television debut came in the same year when he first appeared as the television news anchor during the News at Eight: in English and Afrikaans.
He has been on television ever since, anchoring test rugby, the golf majors, Olympic Games and fund raising events. He anchored the Comrades Marathon eleven-hour live broadcast - where the front man is required to link live on-camera, commentate and co-ordinate all the on-air information - five times.
He has hosted Treasure Hunt, game shows, three Ithuba million rand giveaways and the introduction of VAT in South Africa, which required Arnold doing more than 800 interviews in 9 days.
Arnold is one of SuperSport’s most established presenters.
