Ronge - Radio Personality and MC -
I was born in Hillbrow and raised on the West Rand.
I studied to be a teacher and after 13 years of
exploring Jane Austen, Shakespeare and WB Yeats with
students who would far rather have been exploring
new release racks at record shops and each other, I
switched career to become a journalist.
My first posting was with The Star, but I moved
around before finding my current home at the Sunday
Times almost two decades ago. My first radio gigs
were on Capital Radio and 5FM before I came home to
702. I prefer movies to books and I prefer books to
people but I prefer cats to all of the above. I
still live on the West Rand with many dogs, cats,
birds, chameleons and DVDs in a house with a wild
garden in which my privacy is the one thing I will
defend with a fight.
