Big Nuz is a fun-loving, passionate group of individuals who thoroughly enjoy interacting with their many adoring fans.
Through perseverance and hard work, their never-say-die attitude and love for their art keeps them current and part of the popular culture of South African youth. Their passions include inspiring disadvantaged youth to not give up on their dreams and take a page out of their book; inspiring youth to be active citizens; and finally to fly the South African flag high and expose the rest of the world to a different genre of our music.
The group was formed 2002 when they moved from Durban to Johannesburg to hustle for a record deal. It was a tough ride releasing their first album - there is no studio in Johannesburg they don’t know from knocking door to door.
In 2002 they did a jingle for sopie Backstage on e-tv when the show was relocating to Johannesburg, they then got a chance to perform on Backstage. They continued their hustling in 2003 working with Koloi Lebone and Beatmaker doing songs that were never released. In 2004 Ishmael featured them on a song called Boom Boom. 2006 they release their debut album called “Zozo” under Gallo Records working with the late Kid Mokoena.
2008 Big Nuz got a Channel O Best Kwaito Video nomination. They won the 2008 Metro FM best Kwaito award. And were nominated on the 15th South African Music best Kwaito and Song of the year category.
Big Nuz is a highly successful kwaito group consisting three highly talented members Jojo aka Mampintsha, Mzi aka Danger and Sbu aka R Mashesha.
