Like most 5FM DJ’s, Dineo got her initiation working for campus radio. When she first registered at the WITS University School of Arts, she was resolute to follow a career in television and performance and ended up in radio entirely by chance. The Programme Manager of the campus radio called Dineo to say that they were keen in training her for a show. Only a month in and Dineo was given a 6pm to 9pm hip hop show and rapidly fell in love with radio. Her ‘big break’ came shortly thereafter, at youth station Yfm.
In 2010 Dineo was given a lead role in Intersexions, the second highest rated show on SABC 1 after popular soapie Generations, with an audience of over six million viewers. At the BEGINNING of this year, Dineo was offered her own youth talk show on the same channel. The 13 episodes talk show was focused on young people between the ages of 16 and 35, and dealt with issues which South African youth deal with on a daily basis. She was also cast in a short film which won the 48 Hour Film Project last year, this saw the film being screened at the Cannes Film Festival this year. Dineo’s fan base has grown exponentially through her Media exposure, and many more opportunities undoubtedly await the talented young actress and presenter.
