Dozi -
Afrikaans Solo Musician

Dozi is a South African musician who first became
popularly known through the television show Noot Vir
Noot. He's subsequently hosted and performed in a
show of his own entitled Kom 'n Bietjie Binne and is
also known for being a celebrity coach on the second
and third seasons of the reality talent show
Supersterre. |

Dozi
Since the age of 12 Dozi has been performing on
stage, singing and playing guitar. In 1999, he
recorded and released his first album, a Zulu gospel
album entitled Mercy, which received a SAMA
nomination for best newcomer. This album was written
and composed by Dozi. Later, Op Aanvraag was
released, selling more than 100 000 copies. With
these successful albums behind him, Dozi and his
band were welcomed during a tour to the USA in June
2005. |

Dozi
In July 2005 he was appointed a 46664 ambassador by
the Nelson Mandela Foundation, dedicated to research
on HIV/ AIDS and the support of victims of the
disease, in July 2005. He also performed as a guest
artist on a number of albums during the same year,
including those by South African musicians Anton
Goosen, Bianca, Irene van Wyk and a tribute album to
the late Gé Korsten. |
