Cape Town based rock group, The Jesse Jordan Band was established in 1999. Having gained much popularity over the years, their story is hardly one of overnight success, but one of consistency in the face of adversity, the chasing of a dream against all odds and the ultimate realization of that very dream.

Jesse Jordan Band recorded their debut album, “Lately When She Cries” released in 2000 through Universal Records. Their first single “Eastern Bridge” garnered widespread radio airplay and bagged them the winning slot for 1999’s “Shell Road To Fame” “Pop/Rock” category.
In the wake of this achievement, Jesse Jordan Band started playing the local Cape Town gigging scene and soon saw a loyal following of fans develop. Soon regular slots at popular venues helped boost the band’s popularity and this was soon followed by requests to play nationwide, including at a number of well-known festivals, including KKNK, Woodstock 4 & 5, Aardklop, amongst others.
“Inconsistent Behaviour”, JJB’s second album was released in 2004 through Bowline Distribution. Their hit single, “Not Here” climbed the playlists of notable radio stations such as 5FM, MFM and RSG and their follow up single “There Goes My Mind”, apart from the now expected radio popularity, was chosen by legendary DJ Barney Simon to be on the 5FM/ SL Magazine’s “Unearthed” CD.
Their third album, titled “World Piece” featured 12 tracks of new and revamped hits. Their first track entitled “Be with you” Went to number one on 5fm and the music video did extremely well on S.A. DSTV music Channel Mk89.
Now, with the transition of new members in late 2008, the Jesse Jordan Band has been developing a new sound and a new direction. In 2009 the guys has started the writing process for the next album and this soon became the new signature sound, the fusion and synergy of 4 musicians from completely different musical and social backgrounds and the result is evident on the soon to be released album “Ready For The World”
Recorded during the Winter of 2011, the Jesse Jordan Band worked with multi-award winning producer and recording engineer Jurgen Von Wechmar, Owner of Sunset Recording Studios, and produced what they feel is their best work to date.
Given the opportunity by Robin & Christine Thompson, prominent music business professionals from Namibia, they seized the chance to produce an album that captured the perfect blend of Jesse’s amazing vocal range and acoustic guitar skills, Hein’s powerful guitar tone and catchy riffs, Logan’s solid bass lines that holds everything together and JP’s rhythmic, versatile and dynamic drumming.
With an awesome chemistry among these members, whether in the rehearsal room, recording studio or live stage, the Jesse Jordan Band brings a lot more to the party than meets the eye.
The Album launches Tuesday 31 January 2012 in Cape Town, 25 February in Namibia and 6 March in Pretoria.
Jesse Jordan plays the acoustic guitar and fronts the Jesse Jordan Band. He started singing at a very early age but learnt to play guitar in high school.
Jesse’s been playing gigs professionally since age 16 and has grown as both a songwriter and a performer.
Hein Schultz also a graphic artist & animator, started playing rhythm guitar in JJB for a while then developed and progressed to a lead guitarist and now is a very important element in the Jesse Jordan Band sound.
Logan Scott has worked as a freelance bass player since he was in high school and has toured and played every major festival in South Africa. Known for his rock solid groove, Logan brings the perfect foundation to the Jesse Jordan Band as the link between the harmonic, melodic and rhythmic element.
JP Crouch, husband & father of 3, has worked in almost every musical genre ranging from Gospel, jazz, RnB, pop and theatre to major stage productions. Over the last 3 years JP has firmly established himself as the BEAT of the Jesse Jordan Band.
