Juliet Newell is a South African actress, television

best known for anchoring the e.tv breakfast show
Morning Edition, from 2006-2007. She is currently a
business news anchor on DStv's Summit channel and a
presenter and producer of Designer Portraits on The
Home Channel. Newell began her career by appearing
in a Christmas campaign for the newly-launched M-Net

role as a student on the second and third seasons of
the educational series Maths No Problem (1991-1992),
for the SABC.

Juliet Newell has racked up an impressive twenty
years in the film and television industry - with her
first gig in a tv commercial at the tender age of
just fourteen years old.
Over the years, she tried her hand at acting - with
roles in Egoli, Generations, a lead in a Frech TV
series about an African Game Farm and lots more. In
her early twenties, she found her true passion -
presenting.
The road to television presenting was often bumpy,
with work difficult to find - and Juliet decided to
try her hand at something creative - Interior Design
and decorating. She managed to work for a number of
top interior design houses over nine years - but
still managing to keep her big dream of television
presenting alive.

Her big break came when she was offered a position
at Talk Radio 702 as a journalist and news
presenter. She paid her dues, working the graveyard
shift for three years, before being head-hunted by
eTV to host their breakfast show Morning Edition.
During her time at eTV, she also anchored news as
well as 3G news - which was broadcast to mobile
phones. She was also instrumental in setting up the
3G news, giving input into the content and the way
in which it would all work.
Her passion for beautiful things and television were
merged when DSTV's the home channel offered her a
job as channel presenter and producer. It was an
easy decision to make - finally being offered the
chance to shine in what she truly loved! The home
channel was the perfect fit for her creative spirit.
At the same time, she worked at sister channel
SUMMIT TV as business news anchor and also Sky -
reading the African Business News updates during the
week.

But it was the love of her life that changed all
this for her - asking her to move to the United
States to be with him.. After much deliberation -
she finally packed her bags and headed to the U.S.
to be with her man (also a South African). They
spent time together there before both moving to
Dubai after being offered top positions at a media
group.
In Dubai, Juliet headed up English News on three
radio stations: Virgin Radio Dubai, Dubai 92 and
Dubai Eye. She was also asked on numerous occasions
to present shows on Dubai Eye (a talk station) on
politics as well as the lighter side: interior
design and decor.
After spending a year in Dubai, with many tales to
tell about their experiences there, they moved back
to South Africa late last year. Juliet was ecstatic
when the home channel and Summit said "welcome home
- your desk is ready and waiting for you!".

Juliet is back on the home channel with more
exciting shows including arts and crafts series
called "Show Me How" as well as her new decor show
called "Decor Made Simple". She can also be seen
anchoring business news on Summit TV as well as the
African business and markets updates on Sky tv.
She's a seasoned MC and speaker - with many events
under her belt. Juliet will tailor-make her talks to
suit any function. She's fun, vibrant and has a
cheeky sense of humour that always goes down well at
events!
