Dynamic, vivacious and business savvy are just some of the words to describe Lorna Maseko; South Africa’s premiere black female ballet dancer and now Top Billing Presenter. Born and raised from humble beginnings Maseko has certainly built herself as an indisputable brand.
South Africa’s premiere black female ballet dancer and now Top Billing Presenter. Born and raised from humble beginnings Maseko has certainly built herself as an indisputable brand. From the age of 9 when she stepped into her first ballet class with a strong conviction to succeed, her enthusiasm and ambition saw her become the first professional ballet dancer of colour in South Africa, making dance history and attesting that anything is possible if you believe.
Lorna has worked as a presenter and producer of an entertainment programme called Afro Showbiz News as well as co-hosted and produced a live current affairs, magazine breakfast show, The Weekender on SABC News International, previously known as SABC Africa – yet again adding another element to this darling bud of Africa.
2010 saw Lorna work as a choreographer and chartist for the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2010 FIFA World Cup – making her one of only a few chartists in the world, a skill she learnt during the world cup.
But her most recent achievement – and a dream come true for Lorna, is becoming a Top Billing presenter where she travels the world, and charms the audiences with grace and class on the screen.
