Sieberhagen - Comedian, Musician and Singer and MC - Johannesburg
Melt Sieberhagen is a South African actor and comic
and was born on Ventersdorp.
Melt obtained an B.A. Drama in 2001 from the
University of Pretoria. He starred in numerous South
African soaps as well as the Afrikaans comic sketch
program Kompleks II.
He is also part of the permanent cast of Proesstraat.
He has also appeared in television commercials for
Cell C, TOPS @ Spar, Bioplus, McCarthy Call-a-car
and Wimpy. As a voice over artist he has contributed
to various television programs, commercial and a
host of regular radio advertisements.
Melt Sieberhagen is no newcomer to showbiz and has
been working in the Afrikaans television industry as
actor, editor, writer and director since 2001.
Lately, he has also been establishing himself as a
new breed of Afrikaans stand-up comedians. Melt can
be seen on the big screen in Footskating 101,
as well as Poena is Koning (talk about the
sublime and the ridiculous!). He'll also be
featuring in the SABC sketch comedy series
Kompleks II. When he's not performing, he's
living the interesting life that serves as a basis
for his absurd observational comedy.

The little town of Ventersdorp made its first
contribution to South African entertainment by means
of the singer Jurie Ferreira, who sang the country
ablaze in the middle of the previous century. Later
the town became famous for Eugene Terre'Blanche and
the AWB, the best comedy skit ever to arise from the
platteland. These two pretty much forgotten (Jurie
being dead, and ET being an ex-con), Ventersdorp
proudly presents Melt Sieberhagen- the
funniest-unemployed-Afrikaans-actor-with-long-hair-who-also-writes-directs-and-produces-and-just-can'tkeep-a-girlfriend
since... Well, EVER!

Despite a stage presence that almost makes up for
his size and blue eyes, which middle-aged ladies can
get lost in, Melt has also been known to come up
with some pretty funny comedy. His jokes arise from
his personal experiences and as long as he keeps
trying to live a normal life, the material just
keeps coming.

He would love to one day own a bar with the name "Fok
Weet", since that's where people are always
going when he asks where he can meet them.
Skydiving is also on his list, but fears of not
being able to tell the jokes about the 'chute not
opening, is keeping him from realizing this dream.
