Michelle McLean (born July 30,
1972 in Windhoek, Namibia) was crowned Miss Universe
in 1992. She was 19 years old when she represented
Namibia and became the first and only woman from
Namibia to win the crown.

Michelle McLean is a Namibian-born businesswoman,
television presenter and MC who won the 1991 Miss
Namibia and 1992 Miss Universe
competitions. She also made it to the Top 5 of the
1991 Miss World pageant.
McLean attended Centaurus High School in Windhoek,
Namibia, but moved to Cape Town, South Africa in
1989 to complete Std 9 and 10 in the same year.
After winning the Miss Universe pageant in Bangkok,
Thailand in 1991, she relocated to Los Angeles where
she studied acting.

She co-ordinated the 1995 Miss Universe pageant and
MC'd the Miss Namibia pageant in 1993 and 2001.
Michelle is the founder of a number of
organisations, including the Michelle McLean Primary
School and the Michelle McLean Children's Trust,
both in Namibia, as well as Donna Terra in Cape
Town.

McLean joined South African pay television channel
M-Net in 1995 as the presenter of a magazine show
called Front Row. The following year she was
appointed as a continuity announcer for the channel.
In 1997 and 1998 she presented Ford Today, a
programme showcasing Ford motor vehicles. She also
presented an MTV-style music show on M-Net called
110 FM in 1999 and 2000.

She co-presented The Cosmo Show on M-Net in
2000 and 2001 with fellow continuity presenter
Marius Roberts. Also on M-Net, she presented an
e-commerce programme called E-Bucks.
She also presented Life Style Homes of South
Africa, showcasing some of South Africa's most
beautiful homes, and Celebrity Homes, which aired on
DStv's The Home Channel.
She MC'd the Nokia Face of Africa and SA Sports
Illustrated Model search competitions. She hosed the
third season of the modelling reality competition
Revlon Supermodel from October-December 2007, aired
on SABC3.
