Nick Andrews - Magician - Cape Town

At the recent Western Cape Junior Magician Championships held in the Baxter Theatre, Nick Andrews was Runner-up in the Close-up Magic category.

Nick Andrews is an award-winning magician who graduated from the Collage of Magic in 2010, specialising in close-up and walk-around magic. A master of sleight-of-hand, he is known to thoroughly entertain and amaze audiences through a combination of technique, psychology, and professional showmanship.

Nick Andrews, born in 1993, has dabbled in many different performing styles, but has found his niche in close-up/walk-around magic, and has studied the art to ensure that he keeps clients happy. Using mainly small, everyday objects such as cards and coins, he animates and manipulates them in various different ways to keep audiences baffled and wanting more.

Nick Andrews has won various sleight-of-hand and close-up awards, and was the Western Cape Junior Close-Up Magic Champion in 2008 and 2009, runner up in 2010. In 2009 he represented South Africa at the World Magic Seminar in Las Vegas. Although based in Cape Town, he has performed around the country, including the Pick n Pay Harry Potter Magical Book Launch, The Baker’s Biscuit Junior Cricket Tournament, Canal Walk’s Cape Town’s Got Talent competition, Baccinis restaurant, and the AfrkiaBurns festival. He was also a part of magic show ‘Imagine’, showed at the Artscape Theatre, and dazzled audiences there with his incredible magic.

Throughout his performing career, he has rubbed shoulders with legendary magicians such as Criss Angel, Lance Burton, Jeff McBride, Eugene Burger, Mac King, Steve Banachek, Machael Ammar, and Darwin. Nick Andrews has been performing for over 6 years, and through his mounds of experience has honed his performing skills to suit just about any walk-around/close-up magic situation. He guarantees to keep audiences entertained and amazed with his incredible magic.
