Pepsi Pokane's background is primarily in television
and media. After studying for a degree in
International Business, he broke the mould and went
into television presenting and producing.
Between 1999 and 2003, he worked as a freelance
presenter, actor, scriptwriter, and producer -
contributing to the creative execution and direction
of a number of acclaimed television shows, including
The Standard Bank Joy of Jazz (SABC 2), Mamepe (SABC
2), Cinemagic (MNET) and SABC 1 Drama, Gazlam.

Pepsi Pokane is not only the host of SABC2's music
chat show AfroCafé, as an executive producer
he's also one of the movers and shakers behind the
scenes.
Born in Johannesburg and raised in Lesotho, Pokane’s
background is primarily in television and media.
After studying for a degree in International
Business, he turned his attention to television
presenting.

Pokane, who was born in Jo'burg but raised in
Lesotho, is well-known as a TV presenter. And his
creative talents have been brought to bear on many
shows including Mamepe, Gaz'lam, The Toasty Show
and CineMagic. He's also an athlete and a
romantic, who loves ghetto love songs and sharing a
laugh with his soul mate. And on Monday nights he
charms musos who take to the stage at the
AfroCafé. He hosted the SABC2 show You're
Hired 2 in 2006.
He has worked as a pro-active presenter and actor
writing scripts, producing inserts and
contributing to the creative direction of shows
like The Toasty Show, Standard Bank Joy of Jazz,
CineMagic, Mamepe and the SABC1 drama series
Gaz'lam.

He also starred as Vic in the second and third
seasons of Gaz'lam, appearing in 16 episodes
from 2003-2005. In addition to his on-screen work,
Pepsi is a prolifically busy Event MC lending his
talents to beauty pageants, corporate shows and
music concerts.

He has a brand endorsement deal with health food
supplement Cellfood, which has recognised him
as a serious force to be dealt with in South
Africa’s media and entertainment industry, both as a
personality and a media owner. He is married to
fashion designer Machere Pooe and has a daughter,
born in 2004. He currently resides in Johannesburg.
