Robby
Collins - Comedian and MC - Johannesburg
He has been around the SA stand-up club circuit
where he caught the eye of big names in the comedy
industry. He has opened for the likes of Marc
Lottering, played the support act for Trevor Noah’s
‘Daywalkers, Back by popular demand” show - and has
performed at a number of big production comedy
events nationally.
Robby has won awards such as the ThunderHead NEW Act
of the year award and landed a role in the local TV
series Scandal. Robby was nominated in the
Breakthrough Act category in the first Comics Choice
Awards 2011. |

Robby Collins
Robby started in the theatre performing at the
Catalina Theatre in 2006. His first play was "Wherez
It @" a youth comedy drama. From there he stared in
"Taxi Jam" a musical protest comedy drama. In the
beginning of 2007 he sat down with his sister and
began writing the script for "Rush-In-Ru-let" a
comedy drama set in an apartment building in Point
Road Durban. |

In 2008 he got back in to acting with the 1980's
production "Sophiatown" which was successful. Since
last year July Robby has been doing Stand-up Comedy
in and around Durban winning the ThunderHead New Act
of the Year Award, 2008. |

Robby Collins
In 2009 he began travelling around South Africa
doing the comedy club circuit and being noticed by
the big names in the business. Marc Lottering soon
asked him to open for him in Port Elizabeth and
after that came the opportunity to open for Cokey
Folkow and John Vlismis in Durban. In June he
performed at the 99% Zulu Comedy Show at the ICC and
the 99% Xhosa Comedy Show in Port Elizabeth. |

In July he performed at the Tshwane Comedy festival.
Robbie’s career is being carefully molded - he’s
looking to be the next best thing in South African
comedy. He’s been booked to open for Trevor Noah at
the Daywalker’s Back By Popular Demand Show for an
audience 3000 people at the Gold Reef City’s Lyric
Theatre. |
