Ruda
Landman - Keynote Speaker and MC - Johannesburg
Ruda Landman grew up in small towns in the Northern
Cape, the daughter of two school teachers. She
spoke only Afrikaans, and went to university on a
teaching bursary which meant that she had to either
teach for the number of years she studied, or else
repay it.
She completed a degree in Afrikaans and English
(though her accent was so broad that her only
English-speaking friend asked her to rather speak
Afrikaans to her), and then decided teaching was not
her preferred profession. |
