She attended primary school at the Dominican Convent
in Belgravia Johannesburg and for high school moved
on to Potchefstroom High School for Girls.
Vuyelwa got involved in the arts at a very young age
- she started singing in the choir at school and

continued with that into high school, which is where
her singing career also started to grow.
In 1997 Vuyelwa was among a group of young singers
chosen to be part of the North West Youth Choir that
was to tour Europe in July of 1997. They performed
in five countries, participating in competitions and
choir festivals.
After she matriculated in 1998, Vuyelwa went on to
study for an associate degree in Theatre Arts at
what was then called Midrand University, now Midrand
Graduate Institute. In 2000 she got a lead role in
an Industrial play that was performed at the Market
Theatre and around Johannesburg. |
