Aaron McIlroy is one of South Africa’s most popular entertainers, both on the public and corporate entertainment circuits, with a string of stage blockbusters under his belt. These include, among other hits, his popular satires, The Loser, Mr Personality, My Cousin Brother, The Stand-Up, DOF, The Golfer and Unplucked. Aaron will star as the lunatic father, Mr Milton in the upcoming ‘Spud – the Movie’ due for release in November 2010.
Aaron teamed up with his wife and professional partner, actress Lisa Bobbert, in Macbob Productions' multi award-winning two-hander, Defending the Planet - the most recent of their popular collaborations that have included box office hits such as Abamaniacs among others. That is the pedigree of perennial funny man Aaron McIlroy and it might also explain why he has the gift of the gab.
"I grew up close to the entertainment industry -- my father was a Blarney brother and the other one was my uncle," the motor-mouth comedian told GO! this week.
