About Becoming Dr. Andy
Andiswa Bhiya, commonly known as “Becoming Dr Andy” is a Medical student at University of Cape Town with ambitions to cement herself in the medical field and help those who come after to do the same.
As a big believer in education and youth empowerment, Andiswa shares her journey of becoming a doctor on social media and knowledge about medicine and how to excel in high school and she won the DStv content creator knowledge sharing award for the year 2023. She also started a YouTube podcast where she invites health sciences students or professionals to share about their careers and experiences with the aim to educate people about the different careers in health sciences and hopefully inspire them to pursue one of the careers.

“Dr Andy” is originally from Nelspruit in Mpumalanga, she went to Suikerland Secondary School where she completed her matric with 7 distinctions. She is passionate about educating, empowering and inspiring the youth to work hard and achieve their goals.
Outside school she enjoys reading, engaging in eye opening conversations and creating YouTube and TikTok content. Her content mainly focuses on productivity, study skills, student motivation, hard work and discipline. Andiswa prides herself on being hard working, goal driven and disciplined and she finds pleasure in engaging with like minded people.
“Dr Andy” is available for talks at schools and corporate events to inspire people to never stop learning!
