On meeting this motivated lady, however, one is struck by her down to earth approach and her passion for the development of African women.
After numerous motivational speaking engagements, Gerry felt the need to build on the fundamental goodness of our society and create opportunities through which women can benefit, grow and thrive by taking advantage of the wisdom of other women in the greater community.
Her dream is of uplift South African women and enabling them to follow their dreams and passions while keeping up with their daily demands is well on its way through her various entities.
Gerry Elsdon is an International Humanitarian, Activist and Outspoken voice on issues of women's empowerment, community regeneration,, wellbeing and its impact on Women and Children in Africa. She is actively working with organisations both at home & abroad to change the plight of our Children, People living with Tuberculosis and Health and Wellness.
She had undertaken speaking engagements internationally at the invitation of the UN, UNAID, UNCTAD, The World Health Organisation, IFRC on behalf of the South African people and Global Communities in plight.
She speaks openly to the issues plaguing our communities and the Humanitarian challenges that we must overcome with a motivational and inspirational voice of someone unafraid to work toward positive change.
To say Gerry Elsdon has a colourful background is a huge understatement! Having been born in District 6, living through the forced removals and Group Areas Act in the Cape in the 80s to getting on a Greyhound bus from Cape Town and meeting Nelson Mandela in an elevator in her first hour in Johannesburg. No one tells her inspirational and uplifting story better than she can.
Gerry is also a successful Businesswoman and Accessory Designer and CEO of a thriving Communications Company.
Through the challenges and achievements she had managed to Mentor young men and women entering the entertainment industry, acts as Patron for Othandweni Family Centre in Soweto and together with her husband Kerry Elsdon constantly opens their home as a place of safety for children in need caring for between 4 and 7 kids at any given time and loving it.
After 3 years as the Spokesperson for Avon, Gerry has now embarked on an independent ventures in the South African fashion and beauty industry all while working at Scaling the 7 Summits of the World and teaching audiences how to scale the cliffs and mountains in their own lives.
Gerry Elsdon draws a warm welcoming wherever she is in attendance. Her relaxed and personable style as an MC makes her a pleasure to work with at corporate events with Heads of a State, Captains of Industry and Corporate Staffers alike.
