About Holly Rey
Holly Wasserfall (born 1996), known as Holly Rey is a South African singer and songwriter. Born and raised in Westville, KwaZulu-Natal.
Growing up with a family full of musicians, exposed to music at an early age. In 2019, she graduated with an Honors degree in Media and Communication Cum Laude from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.

Holly signed a recording deal with Sony ATV at the age of 13. She then released her debut album ‘Strawberry Skies’ in 2010 which became a hit for teens. Holly also dropped a three-track EP and a single called ‘Bang Bang’, in 2017 she released her second album ‘Vanilla House’.
In 2018 Holly Rey finally turn heads following the release of her hit ‘Deeper’ produced by Mondli Ngcobo. The hit ‘Deeper” topped African charts and reached number 1 on Itunes. It made Holly the first woman to win Record of the Year at the SAMAs in 20 years at the 25th edition.
Holly Rey preformed at big events such as the Shisa Nyama venues and the 2015 Cape Town Jazz Festival, the 2014 and 2016 Umgababa New Year’s Picnic, the 2016 Durban Jazz Festival, Essence Festival and the 2016 Shisanyama Festival.
Holly Rey Collaborations
Holly collaborated with artists such as DreamTeam, Professor, Zakes Bantwini and EmEx. She has also worked with artists from Mozambique, Senegal, Congo, and Nigeria.
