About Louis Geeringh

For close on 3 decades, Louis has been a strategic advisor to global organisations on the mechanisms to drive exponential growth by identifying and implementing game-changing new businesses.

Louis was with the global professional services firm, Deloitte, for 24 years, inter alia as the Global Executive Director: Service Innovation and Growth, which resulted in the launch of more than ten $100 million service lines in three years. In this capacity, Louis served on the global firm’s board, responsible for strategic business development and innovation. He also served as the CEO of Deloitte Consulting and Corporate Finance in Africa, and successfully led the firm to become the largest advisory firm on the continent. During this time, Louis worked with clients and lead the commercialisation of numerous new businesses around the world. In South Africa, this included Tyme Bank (currently the fastest growing retail bank in the world) and 1LifeDirect (the first direct life insurer in South Africa).

In his personal capacity, Louis was the co-founder of Instant Life, the first fully automated underwriting, straight-through processing life insurer in South Africa. Instant Life was acquired by Barclays Africa in 2018 to establish its bancassurance platform in Africa. In 2022, Instant Life was voted the number 1 life insurer in South Africa based on customer satisfaction.

For 8 years, Louis was the Group CEO of Capitalworks Investment Partners, a leading emerging markets Private Equity firm headquartered in London. In this capacity he led private equity investments by various Capitalworks funds into companies across a broad range industries such as financial services, mining, manufacturing, technology and others. He continues to serve on the boards of a number of investee companies.

Louis is currently the Chairperson of Futureworld International, a global strategy advisory firm based in Gibraltar. For over 30 years, Futureworld has specialised in helping clients:

• Understand the market forces that are changing the future of business and society.
• Develop exponential growth strategies and investment mandates.
• Commercialise game-changing new businesses, in which Futureworld co-invests with clients.

Louis is a Chartered Accountant, and has a Master’s degree in Finance. He is highly regarded as a powerful communicator and a no-nonsense strategist.
