Maeshni Naicker is a stage and film actress, radio personality, comedienne, popular Madame Master of Ceremonies and Drama teacher. Her passion for acting was ignited by her late father who enrolled her at Speech and Drama classes at the age of 7. At high school she chose a curriculum stream that included Dramatic Arts as a subject and it came as no surprise when she went on to pursue a degree in Drama at University.

After graduating, Maeshni taught Drama at several secondary schools achieving a track record of excellent results among her Grade 12 learners. In between teaching, Maeshni continued to act in several stage and film productions which made her a household name. With her brand firmly established, Maeshni quit teaching to focus on her acting career. She later went on to start her own Drama School, The Maeshni Naicker Academy of Drama.

At the foundation of all success stories lies an element of hard work. With many new initiatives and non-profit projects, it gives me a great sense of fulfilment to keep working as hard as I do. It has always been a passion of mine, to assist in motivating people to work harder to attain their dreams and goals Establishing a platform to ensure sustainability of my fans, network and hard work is always at the core of what do.

Maeshni Naicker's acting career continues to be on an upward trajectory with her passion for her craft projecting her to new heights in her field. She had a lead role in South Africa's number one movie, Keeping up with the Kandasamys. She also starred alongside Russel Peters as Constable Cheema, in Indian detective. The one woman play Salon Sue was her first solo theatre performance. In 2018 she played Shamila Maharaj in eTv's Imbewu: The seed and she won a Simon "Mabhunu" Sabela award for Best Lead Actress in Film. The sequel to Keeping up with the Kandasamys, Kandasamys: The Wedding, where she plays lead role "Shanti Naidoo" releases in April 2019!

Maeshni Naicker is best known for her roles in The Curse of Highway Sheila (2014), Florida Road (2010) and Keeping Up with the Kandasamys (2017).
